Cyanotype workshop: Creating images with sunlight

In the creative setting of the Creative Box at Hotel Maistra 160 you are introduced to cyanotype – a historic photographic technique that works without a camera. Step by step you mix the light-sensitive solution, prepare the paper and design your own motifs.

Creative process

• Working with sunlight, light and shadow
• Experimenting with plants, found objects, structures and your own negatives
• Developing individual image ideas and series in vibrant blue

The nature around Pontresina serves as inspiration and offers diverse material for expressive prints.

Instructor and target group

The workshop is led by Martina Ehleiter, scenographer, lecturer and art educator from Basel. It is aimed at adults and young people from around 12 years who are looking for an intensive creative break or an artistic adventure. No previous knowledge is required.

Organisation

The workshop takes place on two consecutive days. Course times are from 10:00 to 18:00 each day, including creative working phases and breaks.
